FROM GARMENT TO YARN – AND BACK AGAIN

The goal is to achieve a fully circular production. The manufacturing of new textiles requires a significant amount of energy and resources, such as water and chemicals. Today, we recycle the majority of our waste into a recycled felt material that is used in new products. But we want to do more.

One project we have been working on for a few years is to explore how we can utilise even more of our waste. It has been discovered that the textile fibres from our production waste are of such good quality that they can be reused and spun into yarn again. In this way, the textile raw material retains its economic value and gets an additional lifespan, while requiring less energy and resources compared to producing entirely new yarn.

THE DREAM OF RECYCLING OLD GARMENTS

We not only dream of utilising the waste generated during our production but also of being able to recycle old garments and transform them into new ones. In the future, we hope that when you wear garments from us, you will continue to do so until they are no longer usable, and then return them so that the remaining materials can be used in our recycled felt material. In that way, the same wool fibre could be used for multiple lifetimes.
