2nd grade Gränsfors Kubben / Hand Hatchet

We are pleased to offer these axes from our sister company Gränsfors Bruk as a temporary range for you as a registered Woolpower customer. This axe is classified as second grade, which means it may have minor cosmetic flaws. Despite this, its functionality is identical to that of Gränsfors Bruk’s regular axes. Each second quality axe is marked with an “S” on the axe head.

The distinguishing feature of the Gränsfors Hand Hatchet is its short handle relative to the size of its head. It is extremely practical to carry in your rucksack on forest walks, or to keep in the car as it takes up very little space. The shape of the sheath, which covers the edge and the top part of the poll, also stops the axe head cutting into your rucksack. The Hand Hatchet makes an excellent scouting and camping axe. Despite its short handle, the axe can be used to fell small trees. It is also great for limbing and for splitting kindling and firewood.
